As of May 1st, I’ve asked our group of Colorado Springs Realtors to be single-focused about their businesses for the next 90 days.
This does not mean to pile additional projects on top of what’s already being done with our individual real estate practices. What it does mean is that this is a time to remain totally committed to what we do, but also, to evaluate how we’re doing our businesses, and then, to make the necessary modifications about how we can be even more productive regarding the way we work, especially during the fast-changing times.
As you already know, real estate is not your typical job. It’s very demanding and oftentimes, it slices directly into your personal life, making you feel completely emptied on the inside. After awhile, the potential profits are simply not worth the excessive work hours and consequently, the losses of your family connections.
As a result, I’d like to formally introduce you to my other half, who is my husband, Dr. Gordon Selley. His life story is incredible (www.gordonselley.com). All along he’s been in the background of my real estate career, always encouraging me about my gifts, helping with critical decision-making and stretching my vision beyond what I’d ever anticipated. In short, he’s really the centerpiece bridging our brokerage together about vocational and personal priorities.
Presently, Gordon and I have come to a decision about the excessive hours that seem to be required for blogging on Active Rain. Quite frankly, I can’t undertake this part of our marketing all by myself. It extends my workday to 14 hours per day, based on the construct of my business already. As I’ve already mentioned in previous blogs about blogging and article writing and video usage and social media, etc., these particular ways of marketing no longer are feasible for the sole Colorado Springs Realtor to do his or her business.
Basically, you need to have a team established, especially when having 50 (+) transactions per year. As a result, Gordon is going to assist me with writing some blogs and also, making some blog comments. To avoid confusion, he will let you know if it is him with whom you are communicating.
Please welcome him with open arms, as he has always been somewhat part of this whole process from the beginning, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy his participation on the Active Rain blogging machine. Thank you, Cherise.
