If you’re a managing broker of your own real estate brokerage, then it’s advisable to update your office policy manual every one to two years, especially due to the rapid changes found within the industry.
Our office policy has been revised as of October 1st due to a few glaring modifications made to our operations. Perhaps these might be helpful to your operations as well.
- We changed our standard business hours of 9 am to 5 pm to variable hours of being available for operation, beginning each day no later than 10 am. We did this because we work very long workdays as it has been for our entire career in real estate, in which many of our days last into later hours of the evening.
Also, we typically schedule our clients for appointments, in order to give them specialized treatment. In essence, we believe the change from fixed business hours to variable ones will allow for increased personal time, as well as to propagate increased work efficiency.
- Another poignant change involves our energy-conscious thinking about conservation and use of technological efficiency. As a result, we have converted most of our business into a paperless organization with cloud and disk back-ups.
It is our contention that this approach to doing real estate is part of what will keep us in the top-tier of Colorado Springs Realtors. Being able to leverage technology efficiently, we believe, gives us an advantage to better serving our clients in the long run.
