There are seasons in the real estate business that can be deafening to the senses. Sometimes it is so busy that you do not have time to think, and therefore, you do not have time to discover the vision and direction of your business.
During this particular season, there is a lot of noise trying to cloud the rhythm about how we conduct our business. When I refer to noise, what I actually mean is that the noise is the busy work of the business that is non-profitable. And yes, when you serve others in business, noise is part of the process. But when it becomes deafening to the point that you’re working until 9 to 10 pm each evening, something constructive needs to occur. Here’s a few points of sober-minded perspective I recommend:
- Determine what constitutes the meaningful part of the business. Of course, the customer is also considered in this process.
- Eliminate the non-profitable tasks. It’s like pulling weeds from the garden. Though you might feel some loss of business from doing this, in the long run, this debridement of tasks will help your garden of business to grow more healthily.
- Remain thankful for hard work. It is a gift that needs to be nurtured. The postmodern mindset is trying to convince our society that hard work is a bad thing, specifically, that hard work and business profits breach our sense of morality, which is the furthest point away from the truth.
Believe it or not! These three simple and straightforward steps will help to silence the noise that deafens your perspective about work.
