Colorado Springs Realtors – An Alternative Way to Deal with Business Trials

A mixture of thoughts from our lives (my husband and me). He helped to write this blog:

Yesterday happened to be one of those days… As we were making some pivotal decisions regarding our business life, like a fox sneaking into the hen house, it felt like our investment plans were literally being attacked by doubt and double-mindedness.

Nevertheless, is this really surprising to have gigantic trials when trying to move against the winds of change? Not really. On a regular basis many of us are undergoing major trials when trying to make critical decisions about our real estate businesses.

Curiously I’m intrigued about how we consider our ways of doing business versus how we might consider how to live according to the ways of God.

Think about this… Oftentimes we worship God on our terms only. In other words, we’re never really surprised by Him nor are we overwhelmed by His presence. Too often, we create the idea of God by what we can comprehend or by how secure we feel or by how we can control our circumstances evenhandedly. Rarely does anything actually surprise us when we predictably control our own outcomes of faith. In a sense, many are afraid to walk by real faith. And as a result, an altered sense of Christianity becomes created. Isn’t this religious idol worship? Each one of us can answer this question for ourselves.

I think that sudden attacks against our logical planning, even for our business lives, are ways for God to test our faith. It’s one method by which God examines our hearts under duress. Do we look toward His inner Spirit trustfully for guidance? Or do we skirt about trying to find solutions through the abilities of other men or by our own survival instincts? Sadly, commonly and frequently, I think we tend to drench ourselves into mere humanism.

Perhaps our outward perplexities are ways to open our eyes to the spiritual…

Relative to our current situation, we’re going to let the dust settle so to speak before we react too impulsively. Then we’re going to pursue the voice of God for His wisdom. Even if things do not go our way as we think they should, I’m sure we’ll learn to live by His ways through this process.

Although the unthinkable occurs for all of us, will you opt to consider this approach of faith to deal with your own trials in the business world?

Great post. Often times, we tend to live by God's way on Sundays and live by our way from Mondays to Saturdays. It is His way that will lead us to true life. To live our life, we will have to loose our life. That is hard to comprehend. We tend to think our way is better and that we have thought of everything but in reality we don't.

Matthew 19:26 (New International Version)

26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Romans 12:2 (New International Version)

2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Hi Cherise--Well, I have to say that I try to live my life each and every day as He would want me to--I have moments that I slip up but, never 'days!'  My faith is THE most important part of my life and like you, I'm always wondering if 'this is a test!'  I don't always 'pass' the test but, I do always learn from my failures.

I'm not sure where He's guiding you but, do know that it is always the right way--what is meant for you and Gordon to do and be, in His name.  Pray and listen; let His voice guide you both.

Thanks for your challenge. As strange as it may sound, it almost felt as though remaining a pastor may have been religious idolatry for me. Making the change came through discernment and I see how powerful a ministry real estate is. Thanks for sharing.

Cal - Today's idea of religion is oftentimes religious conditioning.  Our real estate business has been a ministry platform for years.  And not in the sense of finger pointing or telling people what they should believe, but really diving into other lives with love, prayer and finances.  We try to get immersed in the reality of the power of faith.  Cherise

Cherise we often times wonder if He hears us and we begin to doubt who He really is. We have been in extreme testing as well but more because of the stand we are taking to see His Kingdom on earth. We have been praying with a group for a while and the personal warfare is way up and the trails are also coming from places that you do not expect. Fear not for I Am with you says the Lord, Be strengthened by His might and may the peace that surpasses ALL understanding lift you up because you are seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus and He will lift you up. Endure all things and remember that Love covers a multitude of sins and also disappointments.

Blessings to you.

Nick - thank you for your words of spiritual encouragement.  It seems like you're on a similar journey as my husband and me.  The more you give up yourself for His abiding nature, the more intense everything else becomes - for sure!  Cherise
