A report released by the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department showed some optimistic progress regarding single-family home building permits. From January 1 through May 31, single-family permits totaled 670 as compared to 373 for the first five months of 2009.
From my experience as a Colorado Springs Realtor, it seems like the home building permits are geared toward the lower to medium price ranges, though I do not have statistical information to back up my opinion. I continue to see the higher-priced homes scrambling for stabilization, as potential buyers are expecting huge discounts (a few hundred thousand dollars) despite the comparable market analyses which indicate otherwise.
